How do I know what my level is?

You will be given a level test before the beginning of the course so that you can be placed in the correct level. Complete beginners do not need to take a test.

Where do lessons take place?

Lessons can take place at your home or office within the London area.

How many people are there in the group lessons?

We offer groups from 2 to 10 people, and prices vary accordingly.

What shall I do if I am not sure I am in the right level?

Please contact_us immediately to make the necessary arrangements.

How many lessons will I need in order to speak fluently?

That will depend on whether you take one-to-one lessons or if you learn as part of a group. For group lessons, we estimate an average of 40 hours to complete each of the four levels. We consider that after 20 hours, you will be able to engage in basic conversation.

What happens if I don't like the tutor?

In the unlikely event that you do not get on with your tutor, you should inform us ASAP, either by sending an email to info@nexo-bls.com or calling us on 020 80 902 702. We will do our best to deal with the complaint promptly.

Can I have a trial lesson?

Unfortunately, we do not offer that option as it is very difficult to arrange. We make sure that all our tutors are fully qualified, that classes are good fun and that all areas of learning - listening, speaking, reading and writing - are covered.

Will I be able to choose the time and date of the lessons?

We suggest that group lessons take place either early in the morning, at lunchtime or after office hours. However, all suggestions and personal situations will be considered. You simply need to email us to info@nexo-bls.com and we will deal with your enquiry promptly.

Do I need to buy a book?

You will only be asked to buy a book in the case of group tuition. In this case, students are required to purchase a textbook which we will provide on the first day of class. The book is to be used for about 40 hours of lessons and comes with a CD.

Can I enrol after a course has started?

Students can only join a class provided they have the right level and there are vacancies. You may be asked to take individual lessons to catch up with the rest of the class but this is not always necessary.

How much homework will I be required to do?

We recommend you do 20 to 30 minutes’ homework per week to achieve your goals and to reinforce what you have done in class. Doing homework prevents students from falling behind and gives them the necessary confidence to participate in class. At the beginning of each lesson, homework correction will be carried out and any doubts will be explained to the whole class.

Will I always have the same tutor throughout the course?

We cannot guarantee that you will always have the same tutor throughout the course. Occasionally illness or a change in personal circumstances means that we need to replace a tutor. We do, however, find that this happens extremely rarely and try to avoid any changes on our behalf. We will always assign you a tutor that best matches your requirements.

What do I do if I cannot make it to one lesson?

Only in the case of one-to-one tuition, students are asked to contact Nexo and NOT their tutor in case of cancellations.

When will I receive my textbook and CD?

Your tutor will give them to you at the beginning of the course.

Do tutors speak English during the lessons?

Our tutors try their utmost to speak the chosen foreign language in the lessons to give students the experience of full immersion. However, if it is needed for academic purposes English may be used.
